Paddington (or “Paddo” as it is known) is an inner-city “trendy”suburb bordering Darlinghurst, Centennial Park, Woollahra, Edgecliff and Rushcutters Bay.
Paddington is a rare and largely intact example of an early Victorian residential suburb with its streets lined with distinctly Australian terraced housing.
Oxford Street is the main arterial road running through Paddington and is a one kilometre shopping strip featuring many international and local fashion designer boutiques as well as bookshops, cinemas and pubs/cafes and restaurants. In addition, William Street which runs off Oxford Street has an eclectic group of designers and traders that sell their wares from tiny shops and terrace houses.
Paddington Markets are held every Saturday offering wares from local craftspeople, fashion designers, artists and jewellers.
