Sydney host a number of beautifully located Open Air Cinemas during the warmer months ( November – March).
St George Open Air at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair – is spectacularly located and not to be missed if you can get tickets.
Moonlight Cinema – Located in the Centennial Parklands and good value.
Starlight Cinema – Located at North Sydney Oval.
Bondi Open air – guess where?
The Ritz Cinema in Randwick is another beautiful Sydney Art Deco cinema (the other being The Orpheum in Cremorne) saved from the wreckers ball.
Built in 1937 it is now family owned, heritage listed and the unique design adds to the charm and warmth of a movie experience at the Ritz Cinema.
Located within a 1 kilometre of each other on Oxford Street Paddington both cinemas show excellent foreign and box office films. Not the most modern of cinemas but interesting because of their quirky nature.
A classic art deco cinema located on the Lower North Shore that is worth a visit just for the architecture and design.
A modern cinema located in Circular Quay with a good line up of local and foreign films.
